Wayne was born in Listowel, Ontario.  He moved to Kapuskasing, Ontario with his parents in 1963.  He attended Kapuskasing Public School until 1971 when he moved to Smooth Rock Falls and finished Public School and High School there.  In 1973 he moved to Waterloo with the family when his father was hired at University of Waterloo.
In1980 Wayne joined the Canadian Armed Forces and completed his basic training at Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.  After basic training, he was assigned to duty on the HMCS Assiniboine based out of Halifax.  While in the forces, he saw much of Europe, sailed across the Arctic Circle and on one occasion escorted The Tall Ships on one of their trips up the east coast of North America.

Wayne left the Armed Forces in 1985 at the end of his 5 year tour of duty.  He returned to Waterloo where he worked as a Stationary Engineer and Maintenance Mechanic.
In 2002 Wayne and Rose separated; they had no family.
Currently, Wayne and Pamela are living together with their daughter, Madilyn.
His main hobbies are fishing, hunting, darts and horseshoes.
