Generation III        Parent

James Loghrin, Jr.¹
b. Nov. 4, 1852 - d. Mar. 8, 1882
Age 29

James was born at the homestead, Speedside, Eramosa township.
He married Matilda Armstrong, second child of William and Mary Ann Armstrong, in 1876.  The 1861 Census indicates the Armstrong family were farmers living in a log house in Eramosa township.
James and Matilda lived on the homestead Lot 25, Concession 2, Eramosa township where he died at age 29.  Matilda stayed on the farm and later moved to Fergus.  The 1911 Census indicates Matilda living alone in Guelph.
Matilda is not listed among the descendants of John and Betty Armstrong and so is not likely related to Betsy or Thomas.*

Family:
Martha Loghrin, b. Jan. 25, 1877 - d. Feb. 27, 1960
Annie Mary Loghrin,  b. Mar. 16, 1878 - d. 1981²

On his tombstone is this verse:
In death's cold arms he's sleeping here
A tender parent a companion dear
In love he lived, in peace he died
His life was asked but was denied³
