Viola was born in Southern Ontario and came to the Richardson area after her mother's death in 1915. Viola lived on the farm with her brother, Loyd, for a number of years.³
Carl and Viola were married on Oct. 7, 1936.¹ Carl, son of Anton and Adeline Ahlers, was born in Nebraska and moved to Canada when he was three years old. The family lived in Alberta and Saskatchewan before moving to Richardson in 1926.²
Carl and Viola farmed two miles east and three miles south of Richardson until 1955 when they moved to Regina. After two years they moved to Estlin to farm again for another five years. When they moved back to Regina, Carl worked for many years assembling farm equipment and making service calls to farms around Regina.²
Viola was always active in the Richardson United Church and later the Broadway United Church in Regina. She loved to sing and play the piano and did so until her health failed.²
