Welcome to Port Hardy in the pouring rain! The flowers were gorgeous at the campground. Don't forget Thunder Bayites; this was mid-May!
The waste from a fish plant attracted a large number of bald eagles. Each speck in the photo to the left is an eagle; on the right a few of them are taking time out in a tree.
A little side trip to Ucluelet took us through Cathedral Grove.
Marg is dwarfed by trees blown down a couple of years before our visit and on the right a "nursey" tree is supplying nutrients for the growth of young trees.
The pullouts were very helpful in letting traffic get by on this hilly, twisting highway across the island.
Chemainus had lots of murals to examine and a very good ice cream store!
